How is possible that  Neugart gearheads have so much higher torque rating / torque density compared to competitors?

Main influencing factor of the torque loadability (torque rating, and hence the torque density)  of a planetary gearbox is the number of the load sharing  planet gears.

  Practically all competitors’ designs feature only 3 planet gears, whereas the 
Neugart E-series gearhead’s have up to 6 planet gears.

All planets are running in full needle bearings having the maximum possible number of bearing needles for a given geometry. And just in case you are not aware of it, all Neugart planet gears are precision honed after case hardening. 

The high torque density is no magic but the result of solid, detail oriented design and manufacturing know how.
