Welcome to the NEUGART
LINEAR Motion  (Gearhead - Pinion&Rack  selection Assistant)

This  utility will assist you in in the selection of a gearhead -pinion-rack system for your liner motion application. The offer  combination is listed / calculated based on the peak linear force and peak speed. In case the the linear force an speed is unknown the utility offers the option to calculate this values foe triangular and trapezoidal motion profile. The utility is using layer structure which are activated by checking  the radio button associated with the layer.

To select the right Neugart  gearhead- Pinion - Rack for your linear motion  application proceed as follows:

- if you know the peak liner force and peak velocity, activate the PLSR  (high precision) or PLER (precision) layer, enter the values an click the calculate button click the

- if peak linear force and velocity is not not available use the triangular or trapezoidal motion profile calculation utility to determine this values. The calculated values are automatically forwarded to the PLSR / PER  selection layer.

- the PLSR / PLER selection assistant  will for a selected Gearbox ration calculate and list the torque requirement at the pinion (Gearhead output) , the required peak motor rpm and the reflected inertia to the motor shaft. Based on this values select  which Gearbox + Pinion is the appropriate for your motor / system. The rated torque shall be larger or equal to the calculated torque requirement. Both values are shown in adjacent columns.

- depending upon your travel length module and precision select the rack part number and the quantity of   required rack segments. The rack part numbers are listed  below calculation charts .

Always consider the lubrication requirements !
