The Neugart gearhead rated torque data are
for continuous duty operation at 100 rpm output shaft speed. In a real
world case the actual loading is dynamic (not constant) and the output
speed is moistly not constant either. This utility will assist
you to calculate the gearbox life for dynamic, changing loads described
by a load cycle. respectively as function of the mean rpm and the
equivalent torque loading.
Equivalent torque loading = " rpm weighted Root mean 3.3
value" according international bearing calculation standards.
To calculate the gearhead L10
design life proceed as follows:
1- click the Load Cycle DATA radio button - enter the data
sets (up to 10) describing your load cycle (duration, torque, rpm) -
the utility will determine the mean rpm and the equivalent torque load
according industry recognized standards DIN ISO 76 and 281
2- click the desired gearhead type radio button, - select size and
ratio - the utility will determine the actual L10 life (90% survival
probability) in hours and also list the standard rated continuous
torque value at the nominal defined output rpm.
